Zinc Nickel Plating (Fe/ZnNi)

The New Standard of Durability: Zinc Nickel Coating

Corrosion is an enemy that silently consumes metal, but its consequences are severe. While standard zinc coatings often appear sufficient, this protection quickly wears out for components operating in high temperatures, salinity, or chemical environments. This is where Zinc Nickel Coating comes in, like a new generation of armor.

This electrolytic alloy layer, formed by zinc and nickel, creates an exceptionally dense and stable structure on the metal surface. The approximately 12–16% nickel content combines the active protection of zinc with the passive strength of nickel. The result:
Up to 10 times longer life, over 1000 hours of salt test performance and unmatched surface homogeneity.

Process and Impact

This process is based on the controlled deposition of a zinc-nickel alloy onto a metal surface using the principle of electrolysis. The active protective properties of zinc combined with the passive barrier effect of nickel create a hybrid cathodic and barrier-type protection. This coating tends to repair itself from scratches and damage, while also preventing external environmental influences from reaching the metal surface.

The alkaline system, which operates in the high pH range, ensures homogeneous thickness even in the recessed and protruding areas of parts with complex geometries.

With Mikrosan and Dipsol® Assurance

Mikrosan applies the Zinc Nickel coating process not only as a surface treatment but as the highest standard of industrial reliability.
The Japanese Dipsol® chemicals used in this process are one of the world's most reliable ZnNi systems, approved in the global automotive and defense industries.

The stable bath chemistry, superior alloy control and excellent passivation compatibility provided by Dipsol® technology, combined with Mikrosan's process engineering, produces an outstanding surface quality.

Each part is applied, tested and approved with Dipsol®'s scientific infrastructure and Mikrosan's experience.
